Our history
Did you know that the history of DB Heating Ltd stretches back more than 40 years? Back in 1982 my father, David Barnes founded the company in its first form. He was a qualified plumber and wanted to create a business that was focused on doing the job right, for every customer of his.
Fast forward to the current day, and you will still find that DB Heating Ltd is a proud family-run business with deep roots in Tavistock and the surrounding boroughs. The company has grown a little from its humble beginnings, but having been built on a foundation of quality workmanship, honest advice, and exceptional customer service, we still treat every customer with the care and skill they deserve.
For a lifetime, my father poured his knowledge, skill, and dedication into making DB Heating a trusted name in local plumbing and heating. I am proud to say that I have been involved in the business in one way or another since I was a young boy. Watching, learning, and eventually joining the business full time. More recently in 2024, my father made the decision to retire, and I am pleased to say I stepped into the role of Managing Director. Today, I continue to build on my father’s legacy, leading the company with the same core values he instilled from day one: integrity, reliability, and a commitment to doing the job right.
We’re proud to have a loyal, experienced team, some of our engineers have been with us for more than 20 years.
